Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Steepbook works fully offline. Sync is optional.
How does sync work?
Each device keeps its own copy and shares changes through a hidden folder in your own iCloud or Google Drive. On iPhone choose iCloud or Google Drive in Settings; on Android, Google Drive. Use Google Drive on every device to share one log between iPhone and Android.
Sync says another device uses a newer version.
Update Steepbook on all your devices. Older versions pause syncing so they never overwrite newer data.
Why does a different water show as a separate combination?
Water changes how a tea tastes, so the right steep can change too. Each water keeps its own pinned session for the same tea, teaware and style. If you don't care about water, leave it blank and every session for that tea and pot stays together.
Where does the starting point for a new tea come from?
From your last session with the same teaware and style on another tea of the same type, or from the built-in brew guide if you have none. Leaf is worked out from your teaware's volume. A vendor's own brewing notes are a better start still, when they give them.
How do I move my data?
Settings, then Your data: export a JSON backup and import it on the other device. Importing merges and keeps the newer version of each entry.
How do I delete my data?
Turn off sync and choose to remove the cloud copy, then uninstall the app.
